Sultan Albarakati has a Ph.D. in the Applied Mathematics program and a Master of Applied Mathematics from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. His Bachelor's is in Mathematics from Um Al-Qura University. His research interests include optimization under uncertainty and optimal path planning of autonomous underwater vehicles.
